Come spesso accade ai luoghi non completamente dedicati all’arrampicata, anche la parete del Tempietto di Frasassi è caduta sotto la scure della incompatibilità ambientale tra arrampicatori e il resto del mondo.
Con ordinanza del comune di Genga (vedi fine articolo) il luogo, frequentato da trent’anni anche dagli arrampicatori, è stato chiuso a tempo indeterminato, formalmente per una verifica delle condizioni di sicurezza delle pareti e dell’eventuale pubblico che potesse assistere alle loro gesta.
In realtà Lorenzo Rossetti, profondo conoscitore del luogo e autore della guida su la app climb advisor, specifica che la chiusura è stata dovuta al comportamento poco rispettoso di alcuni arrampicatori durante le cerimonie religiose all’interno del tempietto di Valadier che non è solo una attrazione turistica ma è anche un luogo di culto. Lorenzo specifica che diverse richieste erano state fatte pubblicamente perché il rispetto dei climbers fosse assoluto nei giorni e maggior affluenza turistica, ma evidentemente non è bastato.
Poco consola il fatto che le vie veramente belle del luogo fossero un numero molto limitato, dispiace invece tantissimo che non si possa più frequentare con la corda un posto che poteva essere un ottimo terreno di convivenza tra climbers e il resto del mondo. Restano aperte le pareti antecedenti l’arco di roccia prima del tempietto, ma sono poche e soprattutto sono molto scavate.

Lorenzo specifies that several requests had been made publicly so that the respect of the climbers was absolute on the days with the greatest tourist turnout, but evidently it was not enough. The fact that there were a very limited number of truly beautiful routes in the area is of little consolation, but it is a great regret that it is no longer possible to rope in a place that could have been an excellent terrain for coexistence between climbers and the rest of the world. The walls preceding the rock arch before the small temple remain open, but they are few and above all they are heavily excavated.
