Su nostra richiesta dopo la schiodatura completa di Castellano.

Michael Meisl, autore della guida “Oltre Arco” e di tante altre guide sulle falesie austriache e italiane, risponde alle critiche con il seguente dettagliato comunicato:

“Nel vostro articolo scrivete che sono state pubblicate aree segrete.
Ognuna di queste aree è già pubblicata sui relativi siti web o in una piccola guida stampata. Tutte le informazioni possono essere trovate su Internet gratuitamente e senza grandi sforzi.

Un’area che è descritta molto bene su Internet, che è facile da trovare, in cui l’approccio è descritto e in cui più di 80 persone soggiornano durante il fine settimana non è ovviamente segreta. Nel 2024, un libro mi sembra spesso piuttosto antiquato e forse viene ancora acquistato solo dalla mia generazione. La generazione più giovane cerca informazioni su Internet.

Negli ultimi anni ho trascorso molto tempo ad arrampicare e fotografare in queste zone.
Lo scorso inverno siamo stati a Castellano 12-15 volte. Abbiamo scattato foto e scalato la maggior parte delle vie. Non eravamo mai soli, la maggior parte dei giovani arrampicatori di Rovereto erano con noi in falesia. Nessuno ci ha detto che si trattava di un’area segreta. A prescindere da chi abbiamo chiesto, ci è sempre stato detto che si trattava di una vecchia area che esisteva da oltre 30 anni. Ci è stato dato un PDF di una piccola guida di arrampicata in cui sono state pubblicate alcune zone di questa regione qualche anno fa.

È stata discussa l’area “Patone”. Non dovrebbe essere pubblicata perché l’accesso e le rocce si trovano su terreni privati. Inoltre, non si vuole pubblicare il Purgatorio. Naturalmente abbiamo aderito a questa richiesta. Tuttavia, gli elenchi dei percorsi e l’ubicazione possono essere trovati rapidamente su Internet con pochi clic.

Le zone di Falegnameria, Busa dei Galai (Monte Zugna) e Laghetti sono facilmente reperibili su Google Maps e sulla maggior parte dei principali portali internet e sono solitamente descritte in modo dettagliato.

È incomprensibile che si tratti di zone segrete. Nei fine settimana le aree erano estremamente affollate.
I topos o gli elenchi con le descrizioni degli accessi sono condivisi in molti gruppi WhatsApp e Telegram.

Le descrizioni riportate nelle varie pagine esistevano già da molto tempo prima della pubblicazione della guida d’arrampicata.

In molte altre zone, ad esempio in Val di Gresta, sopra Campana, così come in una falesia vicino a Noriglio, siamo stati immediatamente informati da diversi locali che la pubblicazione non era desiderata.

You write in your article that secret areas have been published.

Each of these areas is already published on the relevant websites or in a small printed guide. All the information can be found on the Internet free of charge and without much effort.

An area that is very well described on the Internet, that is easy to find, where the approach is described and where over 80 people are staying at the weekend is of course not secret. In 2024, a book often seems quite old-fashioned to me and is perhaps only still bought by my generation. The younger generation looks for information on the internet.

I’ve spent a lot of time climbing and photographing in these areas in recent years.

We were in Castellano 12 – 15 times last winter. We took pictures and climbed most of the routes. We were never alone, mostly young climbers from Rovereto were with us at the crag. Nobody mentioned that this was a secret area. No matter who we asked, we were always told that it is an old area that had been around for over 30 years. We were given a PDF of a small climbing guide in which some areas in this region were published a few years ago.

The “Patone” area was discussed. It should not be published as the access and the rocks are on private land. Also that it is not desired to publish Purgatorio. We have of course complied with this request. However, the route lists and location can be found quickly on the Internet with just a few clicks.

The areas of Falegnameria, Busa dei Galei and Laghetti are easy to find on Google Maps and on most major internet portals and are usually described in detail.

It is incomprehensible that these are secret areas. The areas were extremely crowded at the weekends. 

The topos or lists with access descriptions are shared in many WhatsApp and Telegram groups.

The descriptions on the various pages existed long before the climbing guide was published.

In many other areas, e.g. in the Val di Gresta, above Campana, as well as a climbing crag near Noriglio, we were immediately informed by various locals that publication was not desired.
