Ne è rimasta una sola. Maschile compreso. Camilla Moroni va in semifinale con un eccellente quinto posto a Salt lake City nella terza tappa di Coppa del Mondo. Ma il maschile è, ancora una volta, la rappresentazione di una grave debàcle, che dovrebbe far riflettere i vertici sulla opportunità di dar spazio ai giovani oppure di risparmiare denaro e aspettare tempi migliori.
Michael Piccolruaz (49°) e Marcello Bombardi (55°) continuano lo strass negativo degli ultimi 6 anni. Piccolruaz, il migliore dei nostri, quest’anno ha collezionato tre piazzamenti oltre il 40° (41, 40 e 49). L’ultima volta che è stato nei primi cinque (terzo in Giappone) in WC è stato nel 2016, cioè sette anni fa.
Marcello Bombardi, prima di ieri, ha collezionato i posti 47, 51 e 73 nelle WC di Boulder. La sua ultima grande stagione risale al 2017, ma in Lead, dove certamente anche oggi, ha più cartucce da sparare in un format di gara che è cambiato un po’ meno rispetto al boulder.
Ma questi sono i numeri. In Coppa Italia ce la cantiamo e ce la suoniamo, ma al di fuori delle speranze dei prospects (Reusa e pochi altri) è un campionato amatori se paragonato alla WC o ai campionati giapponesi, francesi e sloveni. Una riflessione seria, anche nella prospettiva di un ottimale collocamento delle risorse, sembra necessario.
