E’ appena pervenuta alle redazioni la prima nota stampa della Federazione internazionale a riguardo della situazione dell’atleta iraniana consegnatasi all’ambasciata del suo paese a Seoul
La Federazione Internazionale di Arrampicata Sportiva (IFSC) è pienamente consapevole delle novità riguardanti l’atleta iraniana Elnaz Rekabi.
Ci sono molte informazioni nella sfera pubblica sulla signora Rekabi e come organizzazione abbiamo cercato di stabilire i fatti. Siamo stati anche in contatto con la signora Rekabi e la Federazione di arrampicata iraniana.
Quel che pare è che stia tornando in Iran e continueremo a monitorare la situazione che si svilupperà al suo arrivo.
È importante sottolineare che la sicurezza degli atleti è fondamentale per noi e sosteniamo qualsiasi sforzo per mantenere al sicuro un membro prezioso della nostra comunità in questa situazione.
L’IFSC sostiene pienamente i diritti degli atleti, le loro scelte e l’espressione della libertà di parola.
The International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) is fully aware of the news regarding Iranian athlete Elnaz Rekabi.
There is a lot of information in the public sphere regarding Ms Rekabi and as an organisation we have been trying to establish the facts. We have also been in contact with Ms Rekabi and the Iranian Climbing Federation.
Our understanding is that she is returning to Iran, and we will continue to monitor the situation as it develops on her arrival.
It is important to stress that athletes’ safety is paramount for us and we support any efforts to keep a valued member of our community safe in this situation.
The IFSC fully support the rights of athletes, their choices, and expression of free speech.
